What you can do to help
If you would like to help us to Keep The Course, you can donate to the campaign, volunteer your time and skills, lobby our elected representatives or sign our petition.
Lobby our candidates
We need you to tell Auckland Mayor Wayne Brown, our local councillors and members of the Kaipatiki and Devonport-Takapuna Local Boards why they should support the Shoal Bay Solution.
There is a list of contact emails and phone numbers below.
When you write or talk to these people who are elected to represent your interests, tell them:
To check out this website so they have all the information on the best options to prevent flooding in the Wairau catchment and maintain important community recreation assets.
That there is significant support from the local community for an engineering solution that works and is cheaper, smarter and quicker to build than the wetlands proposal originally put forward by Auckland Council staff.
That you want them to support a plan that will save hundreds of trees and preserve and protect irreplaceable natural habitats at AF Thomas Park.
They need to think about ongoing maintenance and costs to ratepayers when making a decision about the best option for flood mitigation.

Donate to the campaign
We are a community-led group standing alongside technical experts and professionals to protect a cherished part of Auckland - the Takapuna Golf Course. Help us save Takapuna Golf Course! Our plan keeps all 18 holes, protects trees and meets flood needs. Support our community campaign with a donation!
Sign the petition
Under an Auckland Council proposal, over half of Takapuna Golf Course will be converted to wetlands, with the balance considered for other uses.
We propose an alternative approach: integrating additional stormwater diversion into the existing design so that the 18-hole course is retained, while still addressing local flooding concerns.
If you support retaining the golf course with a smart stormwater solution, please sign the petition.
